mpeg Video Problem

description

Hi,

I'm using your nVLC implementation and really like it.
My application is in C# and based on WPF, therefore I'm using the Taygeta lib from you do display videos.

But now I noticed one error which only happens on one of my PC's.
After some investigation I downloaded your test program form here, to see if I have the same error with your implementation (so I know if the error is on my side or not). And I got the same error with your sample application.

The problem appears when I try to play mpeg videos. Please see the attached screenshot.
The complete image is messed up.

I also tried VLC to play this videos and here everything is ok.
So I guess it's somehow the implementation from nVLC or from Taygeta.

The graphic card is a Geforce card.
Maybe it's a driver issue? Some special handling in the driver? Just an idea...

I'm not sure how you can help.
Do you have any idea where I should look at, in your code?

thx so far
Knob

Hi Roman,

the error happens with nearly every MPEG video file on one of my PCs.
That the reason why I think it's related to the graphic card / driver.

Here is one small example video: http://www.der-knob.de/temp/vlcTest.zip

I have already updated the Nvidia graphic driver multiple times and still I have the error.

Hi,

The file plays smoothly on my machine.
You should check it on other stations

The error seams to appear on Nvidia graphic cards only.

I have tested 3 different PC's with different Nvidia graphic cards and always the latest drivers and I always get this display error.
Also tested with 4 different ATI cards - no problem here.

Hi,

I had time to look at this problem today - and I found it :-D

First I noticed, that this error also happens with your nVLC samples.
After some digging into your code and comparing this with my C++ connector code I wrote some time back, I found the error.

The MediaPlayerFactory default constructor added this parameter:
"--ffmpeg-hw"

That caused this rendering problems with Nvidia cards.
